Welcome to the TiNKER TEQ Blog!

A home for all my personal and professional tinkering

Welcome to the TiNKER TEQ Blog!

This is a project I've wanted to pursue for a long time. I've always enjoyed tinkering with technology, and more than that, I love sharing what I've done and learned with others. This blog is a place for me to document my projects, share my thoughts, and just have some fun! Hopefully some of the posts will be informative enough to help others with their own projects.

Why a blog?

The idea started years ago when I was transitiong to a new home server. I was struggling with something that should have been simple, yet I remembered struggling with it when setting up my previous server. I thought to myself, "I should write this down so I don't forget". Then it occured to me, if I'm struggling with these things, others probably are too. It's taken a while to see the vision through, but I finally have a home on the internet for my documentation and general ramblings (like this).

Who are you to tell me how to tinker?

I'll be the first person to tell you that I'm a hobbyist at best in a lot of the fields I plan to discuss here. I'm a software engineer by trade, gamer by choice, and tinkerer by nature. As a kid the computer was something that just played games or was used for homework. Then, as I grew up, I started to see the potential of the computer as a tool. I started to learn how to use it to make my life easier and took my first computer science course in high school. That's when things really openned up for me. I went on to get a degree in computer science from Boston University and have been working in the field ever since in jobs ranging from the education technology sector to giant companies like Spotify.

So take all that how you will. Don't take my writings as the word of God, but as the ramblings of a random dude on the internet. I will make mistakes, I will have opinions that you don't agree with, and I will have a lot of fun doing it. I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I will.

Okie dokie, let's do this thing.
